SARAJEVO, Sept 18 (Hina) - American soldiers, members of the Stabilisation Force (SFOR) will remain in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and there are currently no plans for their deployment to other crisis areas, SFOR spokesman Daryl Morell said
in Sarajevo Tuesday. Commenting on speculation on sending American troops from Bosnia to operations against those responsible for the last terrorist attacks in the USA, Morell said he was unaware of any such plans. Our basic task remains the same -- the preservation of peace and stability in Bosnia-Herzegovina, he stressed. He did confirm that security measures have, however, been stepped up in all bases and facilities used by the SFOR. A possible decision to re-deploy the troops can be made by the US government, but is a possibility not counted on by the SFOR main staff at this time, the spokesman asserted.(hina) lml
