TOMAC HOLDS TALKS WITH HEAD OF OSCE MISSION IN BH

ZAGREB, Sept (Hina) - The head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ambassador Robert Beecroft, on Tuesday visited the Croatian parliament and held talks with deputy speaker Zdravko Tomac, the parliament's media and public relations office said in a statement. After expressing condolences about recent the tragic events in the United States, Tomac stressed Croatia wanted Bosnia as a democratic, sovereign country, the statement says. For that purpose, Bosnia needs to join the Council of Europe and implement constitutional reforms in line with a decision of the Constitutional Court on three constituent peoples - Croats, Muslims, Serbs - throughout Bosnia, and ensure measures for the return of all displaced persons, Tomac stressed. Ambassador Beecroft said the goals are the strengthening of human rights, the establishment of a joint Bosnian army, and prosperity for young experts, the statement read. Beecroft expressed satisfaction with the upcoming cooperation between Bosnian and Croatian parliaments. The foreign diplomat was also received by Croatian deputy foreign minister Vesna Cvjetkovic Kurelec, who informed him of the Croatian government's activities in the development of the two countries' relations and promotion of economic cooperation.
