VARAZDIN BAROQUE EVENINGS OPENED VARAZDIN, Sept 21 (Hina) - The 31st Varazdin Baroque Evenings, to feature 17 concerts of Baroque music, opened in the northern Croatian city of Varazdin on Friday with a concert of the Zagreb Soloists
and cellist David Geringas. The festival is held under the auspices of the Culture Ministry and President Stjepan Mesic, who opened it. Performing at the festival are, among else, the Varazdin Chamber Orchestra, the Croatian Baroque Ensemble, the Berlin Philharmonics Chamber Orchestra, the Slovene Chamber Choir and Philharmonics Orchestra, the Zagreb Guitar Quartet and the St. Domnius Cathedral Choir. The lovers of Baroque music will hear 17 concerts, some of which will be held at locations outside Varazdin. The event will be accompanied by several exhibitions.
