ZAGREB, Sept 5 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic and Prime Minister Ivica Racan met tonight to discuss the final details of the bill on defence. The bill will be discussed by the government tomorrow and by the parliament by the
end of the month. The meeting is also attended by deputy vice-premier Goran Granic, Defence Minister Jozo Rados, Croatian Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff Petar Stipetic, and interior and justice ministers Sime Lucin and Stjepan Ivanisevic. The session, expected to last late into the night, has been called to solve the issue of the position of the defence minister in the chain of command, considering the fact that he is directly accountable to the president as commander-in-chief, but also to the government.
