ZAGREB, Sept 10 (Hina) - Retail prices in August increased by 1.8 percent as against July, which is their highest monthly growth rate this year, the State Bureau of Statistics said on Monday. Compared to August last year, the increase
was 5.8 percent, while costs of living increased by 5.2 percent. The higher retail prices in August were mostly affected by a 8.6 percent increase in the prices of services, including transport, postal, and telecommunications services, which are 16.4 percent more expensive than in July. Since the beginning of the year, retail prices rose at a monthly average rate of 0.455 percent, or 3.7 percent in eight months.
