ZAGREB, Sept 7 (Hina) - The opposition's Democratic Centre (DC) has requested passing legislation on a decade-long moratorium on all changes pertaining to national holidays, national heraldry and other symbols in order to avoid
further social rifts and tensions. The DC on Friday requested immediately putting an end to ineffective debates on a bill on amendments to the law on national holidays and non-working days. The party's MPs will forward to parliament a bill on a ten-year moratorium on the law. They say the moratorium is necessary as democratic countries do not practice frequently changing the dates of holidays, especially if these changes occur with every new government.(hina) ha sb
