ZAGREB, Sept 5 (Hina) - The net profit of Croatia's leading pharmaceutical company Pliva in the first half of 2001 amounted to 484 million kuna (around USD 57.89 million), which is almost the same amount as in the first half of 2000.
The company's net profit in the first six months of 2001 increased by 6.2% as against last year's first half. The company's total income in the first half of this year amounted to 2.44 billion kuna (around USD 291.86 million) or 1.7% more than in the same period last year. Most of the income, amounting to more than 1.66 billion kuna (approx. USD 198.56 million), was realised in the field of pharmaceutics. Foreign markets accounted for most of the company's income, climbing by 5.7% in relation to the first six months of last year to 1.74 billion kuna (around USD 208.13 million). The domestic market accounted for 29% of company income with 696.2 million
