ZAGREB, Aug 30 (Hina) - The GONG civilian organisation said today it created a Web page called "Newspaper for the People", containing all laws passed in Croatia since 1990, and stressed that all interested parties have free access,
search and use of legal texts available on the site. The project (www.gong.hr/novine/narodu) is intended for Croatian citizens to have a free alternative approach to laws. The project was started after the official gazette "Narodne novine" ceased its free-of-charge use of its Web pages at the end of June and introduced annual fees. GONG official Suzana Jasic told Hina that by issuing the laws on the Internet the organisation did not violate any copyright because, she stressed, legal regulations are public owned. "Narodne novine" will discuss further steps to protect its copyright, it has been said.(hina) lml sb
