VUKOVAR MARKS 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF SUFFERING IN SERBIAN AGGRESSION

VUKOVAR, Aug 25 (Hina) - The eastern town of Vukovar is marking on Aug. 24-25 the tenth anniversary of the suffering of the Croatian people in the Serbian aggression and Camp Inmates Day, in the organisation of the Croatian Society of Serbian Concentration Camp Inmates. Numerous delegations paid tribute to the people killed in the defence of Vukovar and the homeland by laying wreaths by a monument at Vukovar's cemetery of Homeland War victims. Parliament's delegation was headed by deputy speaker Mato Arlovic, while Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic and Health Minister Ana Stavljenic-Rukavina led the government's delegation. A wreath was also laid by a joint delegation of war victims' associations and the War Veterans' Ministry led by Minister Ivica Pancic. Wreaths were also laid by delegations of the Vukovar-Srijem, Split- Dalmatia, Primorje-Gorski Kotar, and Brod-Posavina counties, the towns of Vukovar and Nasice and the city of Zagreb, the opposition's Croatian Party of Rights, and the ruling coalition's Croatian People's Party.
