ZAGREB, Aug 24 (Hina) - Representatives of the government, five union federations, and employers convened for an Economic-Social Council (GSV) session on Friday to discuss a government-moved revision of social entitlements. The
unionists and the Croatian Employers' Association will hold further consultations and outline remarks and suggestions at the next GSV session, which has been announced for Sept. 1. According to union leaders, war veterans and child-bearing women will be hit the hardest by the government's measures. They expect resistance from all social groups who will have their entitlements reduced. The unionists expect the government will accept their remarks after a broader debate. In principle, they applaud the government's intention to adjust entitlements to financial possibilities.(hina) ha sb
