ZAGREB, Aug 8 (Hina) - In the first seven months of this year 22,688,129 overnights were recorded on the Adriatic, which is an increase of 15 percent in relation to the same time last year. Ten (10) percent more overnights were
recorded this July, 13,319,215, as against July 2000.

22,688,129 overnights were recorded on the Adriatic, which is an
increase of 15 percent in relation to the same time last year. Ten
(10) percent more overnights were recorded this July, 13,319,215,

According to data of the National Board of Tourism (HTZ), foreign
tourists accounted for the majority of overnights, 11,903,243,
which is a 12 percent increase as against the same time last year.
Domestic tourists accounted for 1,415,972 overnights, a decrease
of six (6) percent.
The HTZ data shows an increase in the number of overnights in July in
relation to last year in all Adriatic regions.
Among foreign tourists, the majority of overnights were, as
expected, made by Germans, 2.7 million, which is an increase of 48
percent. Slovenian tourists are second with a little over two (2)
million overnights, a ten (10) percent increase, followed by
tourists from the Czech Republic with 1.6 million overnights or
five (5) percent more than last July. Austrians' 960,000 overnights
mark a 23 percent increase as against last year.
An interesting fact is that Polish tourists made 882,000
overnights, which is an increase of 41 percent as against last
year's July, and are now ahead of Italians with 807,000 overnights,
or a 12 percent increase.
