Expressed in kuna, exports rose by nine percent to HRK 21.3 billion in the first four months of 2011, as compared to the same period last year. Imports totalled HRK 34.6 billion, an increase of 3.5 percent on the year.
The foreign trade deficit was HRK 13.3 billion in the first four months of 2011, which was a 4.1 percent drop on the year.
Expressed in euros, exports totalled EUR 2.9 billion, up 7.3 percent as against the first four months of 2010. Imports went up by two percent to EUR 4.7 billion. As a result, the deficit totalled EUR 1.8 billion, down 5.6 percent on the year.
