SISAK IRONWORKS EMPLOYEES TO END STRIKE ON WEDNESDAY SISAK, July 31 (Hina) - Workers of the Sisak Ironworks, who are members of the Association of the Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH), will tomorrow discontinue their strike
which they commenced on 5 July, as they maintain that the further work stoppage will be counter-productive following the last week's decision of the government to instigate bankruptcy procedure for this plant. A unionist leader, Mato Somic, said on Tuesday that the decision on the discontinuation of the strike was made by a majority of members of the SSSH branch in the company. The SSSH branch has 1,675 members in the ironworks which employees 2,300 workers. A leader of the branch of another union federation (HUS or Croatian Federation of Unions), Ivica Kenda, said this branch with 360 members in the plant would not discontinue the strike and that they were considering other kinds of industrial action as well, as they disagreed with
