ZAGREB, July 26 (Hina) - The foreign trade deficit, of over $1,8 billion, in the first five months of 2001, exceeded export. Import covered export by only 49.5 percent. Such a deficit, whose level exceeded expectations, is the result
of a 26.6 percent import growth and a 1.4 percent growth of export. According to the Bureau of Statistics, Croatia in the first five months of this year exported $1.813 billion worth of goods, while import amounted to $3.666 billion.
