Upon leaving the session, members of the Croatian Block and Tudjman's list claimed that the new city authorities were totally undemocratic. Tomislav Jelic of the HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union) asserted at a news conference that the refusal of their motion reflected the fact that the SDP and HNS failed to respect democratic procedure even formally. Miroslav Rozic of the HSP (Croatian Party of Rights) maintains that by not allowing the motion to be put on the agenda, the majority in the city assembly (HNS and SDP representatives) "has joined those who defame people that defended the country, and this has been a practice of the Government for some time." If their motion is not going to be included in the agenda of the assembly's coming session, the Croatian Block representatives will not attend the work of the autumn sitting. (hina) sb ms
