VUKOVAR, July 12 (Hina) - The new composition of the Joint Council of (Serb-populated) Municipalities or ZVO held its founding session on Thursday in the eastern Croatian town of Vukovar, in line with the results of the recent local
elections. The new chairman of the ZVO is thus Jovan Ajdukovic, and vice-chairmen Mirko Jagetic and Milos Horvat, who will be candidates for deputy county prefects of Vukovar and Osijek counties. The ZVO was set up in 1997 in compliance with the Erdut peace agreement and a letter of intent of the then government on the completion of the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danube River area. The tasks of this body is to protect interests of the Serb ethnic minority in the said area.
