ZAGREB, July 12 (Hina) - Some 300 workers with Sisak's Ironworks, who have been on strike since July 5, have rallied in front of the government building in downtown Zagreb on Thursday morning demanding that the prime minister take an
immediate position on their requests for the payment of full salaries. The workers from the town some 50km south-east of Zagreb also demand the government take a position on the fate of Ironworks and establish who brought their company into the present state. According to Ivan Kenda, commissioner for the Croatian Association of Trade Unions, 2,300 Ironworks workers have gone on strike against a minimum salary for April and the following months. If the government, the company's majority owner, fails to meet their demands, the workers are willing to block roads.(hina) ha
