VUKOVAR/OSIJEK, June 27 (Hina) - A group of Croatian Serbs, who are in the Osijek County Prison facing war crimes charges, on Wednesday discontinued their three-week-long hunger strike following today's meeting with the president of
the Serb People's Council, Milorad Pupovac, and Cedo Prodanovic, a representative of the Croatian Legal Centre. The press centre of the Joint Council of (mostly Serb-populated) Municipalities (ZVO) quoted Pupovac as saying that four prisoners decided to discontinue the strike after he visited them and asked them to do so. Seven other prisoners discontinued the strike two days ago after a meeting with an Osijek County Court judge, Damir Krahulac, who scheduled their trial for July 2, says the ZVO press centre. It adds that four more prisoners are still in a Zagreb hospital due to exhaustion caused by the refusal to take food and that they have started taking food as well.(hina) rml
