ZAGREB WASTE INCINERATOR ZAGREB, June 18 (Hina) - The Zagreb city authorities on Monday adopted a conclusion whereby the chief project engineer and consultant for the construction of a Zagreb waste incinerator will be the Vienna-based
company Umwelttechnik, in cooperation with Elektroprojekt from Zagreb. The Austrian company's services will cost EUR2.7 million, said Ladislav Prezigalo, head of the city office for economy. Zagreb produces about 300,000 tonnes of waste every year which is stored at the Jakusevac site. Besides reducing waste, the city incinerator will help the capital deal with large quantities of silt to be produced by a water purification system which will be set in motion in 2005. The electric and thermal power from the incinerator will be included in the power system.(hina) ha
