PRISTINA, June 17 (Hina) - Russian President Vladimir Putin today spoke with senior international representatives in Kosovo, the UN civilian commissioner Hans Haekkerup and KFOR commander, Norwegian General Thorstein Skiaker. Putin
also visited the Russian KFOR troops. He spoke with a delegation of the UN Security Council which is visiting Kosovo. Reporters wee told the talks focused on the suggestion made by Putin and Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica on holding an international Balkan conference on determining the status of Kosovo. Kosovo Democratic Party president Hashim Taqi, who spoke with the Security Council delegation today, said the Balkan conference is not a solution. He holds that such a regional conference will not be held because the problem of Kosovo needs an international conference where Kosovo's independence will be recognised.(hina) lml
