SOCIALIST PEOPLE'S PARTY WON'T SUPPORT BILL ON COOPERATION WITH ICTY - MEMBER

PODGORICA, June 15 (Hina) - Although it supports Yugoslavia's full integration into international and political institutions, as well as its cooperation with the Hague war crimes tribunal, the Socialist People's Party (SNP) of Montenegro does not support the hand-over of indictees to this international institution nor does it support the law regulating the hand-over, a party member said on Friday. The SNP does not believe that cooperation with the Hague tribunal consists exclusively of the hand-over of indictees but has a "wider basis", SNP spokesman Dragan Koprivica said. The SNP thinks the Yugoslav constitution lacks the legal basis for the hand-over of Yugoslav citizens, he reiterated. "The SNP believes every perpetrator should be prosecuted and prosecution should be conducted by our courts or mixed courts which would also include representatives of the Hague tribunal, to operate in Yugoslavia," he said. He added that SNP deputies in the Yugoslav parliament would not support a bill on cooperation with the Hague tribunal envisaging the hand-over of Yugoslav citizens. (hina) rml
