BELGRADE, June 7 (Hina) - Serbia's Justice Minister Vlado Batic said on Thursday the Yugoslav government was about to face a crisis in the wake of the refusal of the Montenegrin coalition partner, the Socialist People's Party (SNP),
to adopt a law on cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague. Batic told a Kragujevac-based daily he doubted the SNP might change its opinion. He said this undermined the functioning of the federal government and a donors' conference for Yugoslavia. The conference "will probably be postponed," he was quoted by Nezavisne-Svjetlost. The SNP stance might also lead to a rift within Serbia's ruling coalition DOS, he added. "The world can no longer be fooled by stories about laws, constitutions which are or are not valid, and tribal assemblies convening on some hills," Batic said.(hina) ha sb
