PRISTINA, May 30 (Hina) - The Pristina daily in the Albanian language "Koha Ditore" on Wednesday reported that there were plans for the construction of four walls with barbed wire which should partition the town of Kosovska Mitrovica
into South Mitrovica populated by Albanians and North Mitrovica populated by Serbs. According to the daily with the highest circulation, four walls high 2.5 metres and long 35 metres should be built in the southern part of the town near a bridge across the Ibar River. The project was, the paper alleged, proposed by a former commander of KFOR multi-national brigade in Sector North, French General Alain Tartinville. The daily claimed that the French general had handed over the project to UN Civilian Administrator for Kosovska Mitrovica, Gerard Fischer, earlier this month.(hina) ms
