CROATIAN NATIONAL BANK INTERVENES ON FOREIGN EXCHANGE MARKET

ZAGREB, May 21 (Hina) - The Croatian National Bank (HNB) has today, for the third time this month and the fourth time in the past 25 days, intervened on the foreign exchange market, with the intent of slowing down the growth of the kuna. The Bank bought off 62.8 million euro from commercial banks at today's auction, at an average exchange rate of 7.283279 kuna per euro. At today's HNB exchange list, in comparison with the one of last Friday, the kuna grew in relation to the euro or the German Mark by 0.17 percent. The mean rate of exchange for the Mark is 3.735478 kuna, and the exchange rate for the euro is 7.305960 kuna. AT the same time, the US dollar today grew by 0.12 percent to 8.341089 kuna.
