This year's plans include demining about five square kilometres in
Zadar County and about 40 throughout Croatia.
Gorseta said Switzerland had been very understanding of the
Croatian mine issue, as evidenced by past assistance.
According to Ambassador Widmer, Switzerland deems it inadmissible
that there are mine-infested areas in the heart of Europe. Demining
is a prerequisite for normal living and everything should be done to
expedite it, he said.
