ZAGREB, April 25 (Hina) - Croatia's nautical tourism recorded a turnover of 163.5 million kuna ($19.2 million) in 2000, which was an increase of 23 percent as against the year before. According to the State Bureau of Statistics, 70.4
percent of the turnover was realised through berth renting, another increase as against 1999, of 23.1 percent. The number of boats tied in 62 ports last year was 9,516, 10.7 percent more than in 1999. An 8.9 percent increase was also recorded in the number of boats tied at sea, namely 8,892. The most numerous among boats tied in ports were Austrian, namely 2,608 or 8.6 percent more than in 1999, followed by 2,294 domestic and 2,147 German boats, increases of 1.9 and 11.9 percent respectively. The number of transiting boats in 2000 was 144,318 or 30.5 percent more than the year before. Those sailing under the Italian flag were the most numerous, 33,952, followed by 33,73
