contributed to the deterioration of the situation in the southern canton. The officials criticised the suspension of 15 Bosnian Croat policemen for their oath to the Croat National Congress, the Bosnian Croats' self-rule. They condemned the filing of charges against Dragan Mandic, the canton's interior minister, for "irresponsible conduct" during April 6 incidents which took place after NATO's peace-keepers SFOR broke into the premises of Mostar-based Hercegovacka Banka. The officials also pointed to "undemocratic methods of political showdowns and intimidation" which they said were used by the authorities in Sarajevo, namely the Alliance for Changes.(hina) ha sb
