ZAGREB, April 23 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic will attend a summit meeting of representatives of countries in the Danube and Carpathian region. The summit on sustainable growth and the environmental protection of that
region is scheduled for 30 April in Bucharest. The event is organised by Romania's President Ion Iliescu and the honorary president of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), British Prince Philip. Heads of state of 14 countries are invited, read a statement released by Mesic's Office. Present at the event will also be representatives of financial institutions, the European Commission and the United Nations. Prior to the summit meeting, those 14 countries' ministers of environmental protection will convene in Bucharest as well.(hina) ms
