Earlier on Saturday the police said at a press conference they
discovered two accessories to the murder of Vjeko Slisko.
Besides the arrested Samir Ivosevic (32), the other accomplice is
Marko N. after whom an arrest warrant has been issued. The police
assume that Marko N. organised the assassination, namely that he
hired Capau, who lately included Ivosevic from Cepin (east
Croatia).
Capau fired a few bullets at Vjeko Slisko in the downtown Zagreb in
broad daylight on 22 March. In that showdown, Slisko's bodyguard,
Ivica Bertic, then fired a shot at Capau and seriously wounded him.
Both Capau and Slisko, who were in a critical condition, were taken
to hospital. A few days later they died of wounds. Bertic was
subsequently apprehended and is now in custody in Zagreb.
Slisko is believed to have been one of bosses in the Zagreb
underground. In recent years he survived a few assassination
attempts.
