ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - An Australian parliament delegation, led by president of the House of Representatives Neil Andrew, held talks with Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic, parliament speaker Zlatko Tomcic and
president of the parliament's foreign affairs committee Zdravko Tomac, in Zagreb Wednesday. Australia's MPs are in an official visit to Croatia. Granic told the Australians that despite all difficulties, the Croatian government was determined to build a strong democratic and civil society of free market, aiming at Croatia's joining the western world where it belonged, the Croatian government media and public relations office said in a statement. Granic told the Australians that despite all difficulties, the

civil society of free market, aiming at Croatia's joining the
western world where it belonged, the Croatian government media and

Andrew supports reforms the Croatian government has implemented so

Present at the meeting were Croatian Health Minister Ana
Stavljenic-Rukavina, deputy Economy Minister Maja Brinar and
deputy Labour and Welfare Minister Boze Borko Zaja. The officials
discussed the possibilities of investing in Croatia, Croatia's
health system and a joint agreement on social insurance.
The Australian MPs expressed interest in mine removal processes in
Croatia. The Croatian officials stressed greater assistance of
other countries was necessary to remove mines from Croatia.
The Australian delegation said Australia would support the return
process in Croatia, and relations between Croatia and the
International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, read
the statement.
Both parties expressed a wish for the strengthening of
cooperation.
