ZAGREB, April 5 (Hina) - A handbook for researching Croatia's history at a secret Vatican archive from the early middle ages to the middle of the 18th century-Schedario Garampi, by author Jadranka Neralic, was presented Thursday at
the Croatian History Institute (HIP), which issued the two-volume handbook. HIP director Mirko Valentic said Croatians were the first people in the world to publish their history and Church obtained from Vatican's secret archive. The archive was founded by an Italian archivist Giuseppe Garampi in the 18th century. Valentic recalled the archive boasts 800,000 units of works from around the world, with 12,000 belonging to Croatians. All the 12,000 units were published and presented today. Neralic stressed that the oldest documents date from the 7th century and were written on papyrus, while the first paper appeared in the 12th century. She added the archive contains 12
