BELGRADE AUTHORITIES BELGRADE, April 5 (Hina) - Representatives of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on Thursday arrived in Belgrade in order to hand an arrest warrant for the already detained former
Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, and clarified the steps Yugoslavia has to take regarding cooperation with the Tribunal. ICTY Secretary Hans Holthuis and spokesman Jim Landale arrived in Belgrade. On Thursday and Friday, Holthuis will hold talks with Yugoslav Justice Minister Momcilo Grubac, Serbian Justice Vladan Batic and probably with Serbian Interior Dusan Mihajlovic. Apart from handing the arrest warrant, Holthuis will also demand information on accusations against Milosevic before Belgrade's court. BELGRADE, April 5 (Hina) - Representatives of the International
Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on Thursday
arrived in Belgrade in order to hand an arrest warrant for the
already detained former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, and
clarified the steps Yugoslavia has to take regarding cooperation
with the Tribunal.
ICTY Secretary Hans Holthuis and spokesman Jim Landale arrived in
Belgrade.
On Thursday and Friday, Holthuis will hold talks with Yugoslav
Justice Minister Momcilo Grubac, Serbian Justice Vladan Batic and
probably with Serbian Interior Dusan Mihajlovic.
Apart from handing the arrest warrant, Holthuis will also demand
information on accusations against Milosevic before Belgrade's
court.
ICTY said in a statement on Wednesday Milosevic must be extradited
to the Hague tribunal immediately.
Belgrade's authorities already have the warrant for Milosevic's
arrest which was handed to them during a visit chief prosecutor del
Ponte made in January this year.
The international warrant for Milosevic's arrest was issued on May
24, 1999, when he and his closest four associates were accused of
crimes against humanity over Kosovo Albanians.
