BELGRADE, April 3 (Hina) - Tuesday's decision of the Belgrade County Court turning down an appeal by Slobodan Milosevic to have a court ruling on his month-long detention withdrawn and to be released is final and cannot be appealed
against, a member of the law firm representing Milosevic, Zoran Jovanovic, told the Belgrade agency Beta on Tuesday evening. Milosevic's attorney Toma Fila today only confirmed that the appeal had been turned down but he did not comment on the court's explanation saying he had not read it. According to Jovanovic, the decision turning down Milosevic's appeal "simply accepted" the decision of the court of first instance on Milosevic's detention, under which Milosevic could escape from the country or exert influence on witnesses if released.
