ZAGREB, March 19 (Hina) - The chairman of the Croatian parliament's Committee on European Integration, Mate Granic, will participate in the Second conference of parliamentary speakers of the regional initiative of the South East
European Cooperation Process - SEECP, which is taking place in the Macedonian capital Skopje between Monday and Wednesday. According to a statement issued by the Sabor's public relations office, the conference will be attended by parliamentary representatives from Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Romania, Turkey, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, which has the status of observer. Guests at the conference include the President of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, Lord Russel Johnston, the President of the Central European Initiative's Parliamentary Assembly, Carlo Felice Besostri, and Stability Pact Special Coordinator Bodo Hombach. The meeting will discuss the contribution of parliaments to
stability, economic growth, democracy and good-neighbourly
cooperation in South-East Europe.
Upon his arrival in Skopje, Granic met Macedonian Parliament
Speaker Stojan Andov, who informed the Croatian official about the
current situation in his country.
Speaking on behalf of the Croatian Sabor Granic expressed full
support for Macedonia's territorial integrity and sovereignty and
the measures the Macedonian government is taking to resolve the new
situation as well as Croatia's support for Macedonia's democratic
development.
