MOSTAR, March 8 (Hina) - The decision of the High Representative to
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Wolfgang Petritsch, to dismiss Ante Jelavic
and another three senior officials of the Croatian Democratic Union
of BiH (HDZ BiH) from their public and party duties, is a part of
pressure exerted on Croat political officials in bodies of
authority in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and we regard it (pressure) as
unacceptable, one of dismissed officials, Marko Tokic, was quoted
by the Herzeg-Bosna radio station as saying on Wednesday evening.
Under the decision of Petritsch, Tokic is barred from the office of
the HDZ BiH Vice-President.
Besides Tokic and Jelavic who is sacked as the Croat member of the
Bosnian three-man Presidency, the other two dismissed officials
are Ivo Andric Luzanski, a representative to the state parliament's
and Zdravko Batinic, the HDZ BiH Vice President.
Tokic described Petritsch's decision as an undemocratic move of
those who want to lead to democracy through dictatorship.
Asked about the current position of the Croat "self-rule" recently
proclaimed by the HDZ-led Croat National Assembly in the Croat-
dominated areas of Bosnia, Tokic, who was elected as the head of the
'self-government', said the dismissal of the HDZ officials
"absolutely buttresses the Croat self-rule."
As of next Monday it embarks on its own implementation, he added.
