LJUBLJANA WEDNESDAY LJUBLJANA, Feb 19 (Hina) - Representatives of former Yugoslav states and international mediator Arthur Watts will hold a meeting on succession to the former Yugoslav federation in Ljubljana on Wednesday. "We expect
the meeting to result in a major step forward," Miran Mesjak, the head of the Slovene negotiating team, said in Ljubljana on Monday. Mejak believes the meeting will yield an agreement on the division of former Yugoslavia's gold reserves in the Basel Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and that talks on a so-called mini memorandum, proposed by Watts two years ago but rejected by Yugoslavia, will resume. The document would resolve the issue of acquired rights, pensions and archives in principle. It would be accompanied with a statement saying all states established on the territory of the former federation are equal in succession.(hina) rml
