80,000 workers in downtown Zagreb. The organisers have called the third anniversary "Day of Right to the Square" because the former authorities prevented the protesters from rallying on Ban Jelacic Square with strong police force. The unions invited the participants in the 1998 rally to mark the anniversary on the capital's main square, representatives of union federations and politicians who were in the opposition three years ago but are now senior state officials, including President Stipe Mesic and parliamentary speaker Zlatko Tomcic.
