by Heide Kuhn, has been active for two years in projects for mine removal in Croatia. Since last spring, this organisation, with the assistance offered by 150 US state organisations and NGOs, has been conducting an action called "Mines to Vine" in the war-hit hinterland of the Croatian coastal town of Zadar, where it has been clearing mines from arable areas on which vineyards are being cultivated. One of sponsors of this action is a Californian vine-grower of the Croatian descent, Miljenko Mike Grgich. Minister Vesna Cvjetkovic Kurelec met members of an American non-
governmental organisation called "Roots of Peace", in San
Francisco on Saturday.
"Roots of peace", led by Heide Kuhn, has been active for two years in
projects for mine removal in Croatia.
Since last spring, this organisation, with the assistance offered
by 150 US state organisations and NGOs, has been conducting an

Croatia's officials thanked all the present at the meeting on their
unselfish help. She notified them of the achievements made so far in
the mine removal efforts in Croatia. Cvjetkovic Kurelec also spoke
of the economic trends in her country and enhanced possibilities
for foreign investments and joint ventures.
Members of "Roots of Peace" promised to continue giving assistance
in the clearance of mines in Croatia.
