SPLIT, Feb 3 (Hina) - The government will persist in implementing reforms which will result in a considerably improved living and social standard in 2002, Deputy Prime Minister Slavko Linic said in the southern Adriatic city of Split
on Friday. Speaking about a memorandum the government forwarded the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Linic told a news conference the document marked the end of all preparations for the implementation of reforms which should step up economic growth. "The memorandum with the IMF improves Croatia's standing and it is certain that foreign creditors, whom we owe $10 billion, will assess that this government is capable of resolving existing problems," he said. Linic added significant changes for the better in the citizens' standard could be expected next year.(hina) ha sb
