SLAVONSKI BROD, Feb 2 (Hina) - A veterinarian from the village of Donji Andrijevci in eastern Croatia was taken to a Pozega County Court investigating judge on suspicion of giving his pincers and 18 ear tags to a villager who used
them to mark calves smuggled into Croatia from Yugoslavia. According to the county police, there is founded suspicion that the veterinarian has abused his position and powers. While investigating the smuggling of calves from Yugoslavia, Vukovar and Slavonski Brod county police forces established that on January 18 the veterinarian had given to a villager his pincers and 18 ear tags for marking calves bought in Yugoslavia and smuggled into Croatia. Without checking the animals, the veterinarian issued a certificate saying the animals had been checked and were healthy.(hina) rml
