ZAGREB/DUBROVNIK, Jan 27 (Hina) - Dubrovnik experts have discovered oldest species of jelly fish in the world, called Aurellie. The jelly fish are 26 million years old and were discovered on the island of Mljet's lakes.

In one of the lakes species of some 15 centimetres were found, while
in the "Small Lake" the species reached up to half a metre in
length.
"This is a global phenomenon of exceptional importance," and a
historical discovery, head of the Dubrovnik research institute,
Adam Benovic, said, announcing further research.
According to Benovic, this discovery only confirms the thesis by
Dubrovnik's ocean scientists and ecologists that the Mljet lakes do
contain many as yet undiscovered biological secrets.
