KARLOVAC, Jan 20 (Hina) - The director of the Karlovac Waterworks said on Saturday there was no cause for concern because yesterday's liquid waste spill near the local food-processing industry did not pollute the river Kupa to a high
extent. It is incorrect to say that an ecological incident has occurred and that fish are dying in massive quantities downstream of the town 50km south-west of Zagreb, Borislav Vedrina said. The Public Health Bureau in Karlovac also maintains there is no reason to panic and that the spill does not constitute an ecological incident. Experts are in the field and will release the results of water analyses next week.(hina) ha
