ZAGREB, Jan 16 (Hina) - Croatia's military chief-of-staff General Petar Stipetic on Tuesday said he agreed to an interview with International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) investigators, and that the time and

Petar Stipetic on Tuesday said he agreed to an interview with
International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY)
investigators, and that the time and place of the interview would be
set by the government's office for cooperation with the ICTY.
Stipetic said in an interview for Croatian Television that he would
try to insist on making his testimony before the Tribunal known to
the Croatian public in its entirety.
"Calculations published in daily newspapers on some kind of remorse
are not correct, because I am neither a defendant nor an indicted
person and I have nothing to feel remorse about", Stipetic said. The
general believes he can provide a reliable picture of events which
took place in liberation operations conducted by the Croatian Armed
Forces.
"In view of objectively informing the Croatian public, I state that
personally I have done nothing to initiate this scandal about me, or
my appearance before the Hague tribunal", Stipetic said in the
interview.
Stipetic last month received a summons from ICTY for an interview,
which resulted in media speculation as to whether he had been
summoned as a witness or suspect.
