CRO TOURIST ASSOCIATION: 7.5 MILLION TOURISTS EXPECTED IN CRO IN 2001

UTRECHT/ZAGREB, Jan 10 (Hina) - In the year 2001 about 7.5 billion tourists are expected to visit Croatia. They are expected to realise million overnight stays. Tourist spending should amount to close to US$4 billion, president of the Croatian Tourist Association (HTZ) Niko Bulic told Hina Wednesday. He added that the increase in the number of guests from the Netherlands is expected, namely the number 100,000 will increase to 150,000. The president of the Croatian Tourist Association is at an annual fair on tourist stock markets held in Holland's Utrecht. He stressed the Croatian tourism aimed at an increase of financial results by ten percent in relation to the year before. In line with the endorsed work plan and programme for 2001, the HTZ started promotional presentations at foreign markets. A fair in Norway, Oslo, is to open on Thursday and will last until January 14, as well as a fair in Brno, the Czech Republic. The HTZ is also preparing to attend a nautical fair in Dusseldorf to be held between January 20 and 28.
