ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament's head, Zlatko Tomcic, on Tuesday received the outgoing Japanese Ambassador, Keisuke Oba, the Sabor's public relations office reported. Mr. Oba, who was the first Japanese ambassador to
have the offices in Zagreb and who was in the Croatian capital for over two and a half years, assessed that Croatia had good chances for the economic progress following great political changes. Sabor Speaker Tomcic said the political changes which had taken place a year before, were necessary for the country to develop democracy and a market economy while being on the difficult path of transition. Tomcic thanked the Japanese diplomat for good cooperation and his contribution to the strengthening of ties between Zagreb and Tokyo.(hina) sb ms
