MOSTAR, Jan 8 (Hina) - The health minister of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bozo Ljubic, said on Monday it was necessary to carry out a thorough investigation into possible radiation caused by the use of projectiles with
depleted uranium and diseases possibly caused by such radiation. Talking to the Herceg-Bosna radio station, Ljubic confirmed he had requested a meeting with representatives of the Stabilisation Force (SFOR) command, World Health Organisation and competent local institutions. The meeting would tackle the problem of diseases caused by radiation from ammunition NATO used in Bosnia-Herzegovina and joint investigation operations. The meeting should be held by the end of this week, Ljubic said. Population on the entire territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and not only in areas where projectiles with depleted uranium fell, are jeopardised, he said.(hina) rml
