The two ministers are agreed the two key problems in the region, the
Palestinian and the Iraqi issues, should be resolved within
resolutions of the U.N. and multilateral organisations, the
spokesman for the Croatian Foreign Ministry, Zarko Plevnik, told
Hina on the telephone.
He said Picula had offered help in the dialogue between Arab
countries and Croatia's partners in Western Europe because
Croatia, as a Mediterranean country, was very close to a possible
conflict area and directly exposed to possible consequences.
The two ministers signed a protocol on cooperation between the
Croatian and Jordanian foreign ministries and agreed to continue
negotiations on the avoidance of double taxation in Zagreb next
May.
Earlier in the day the Croatian minister visited the federation of
Jordan's chambers of commerce, offering local businessmen
cooperation in the drugs, food, and electrical industries. They
expressed interest in importing honey, medicines, farming
equipment, and exchanging technology for fruit and vegetable
processing, said Plevnik.
The head of the Croatian business delegation, Nadan Vidosevic,
signed a memorandum on understanding between Aman's chambers of
commerce and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.
