LJUBLJANA, Dec 16 (Hina) - After joining the European Union, Slovenia's activities in Southeast Europe will be more efficient and the stabilisation of the region and regional countries' joining the EU is in Slovenia's national
interest, said Dimitrij Rupel who is to perform the duty of Foreign Minister in the Anton Rop government which is to be confirmed by parliament on Thursday.
LJUBLJANA, Dec 16 (Hina) - After joining the European Union,
Slovenia's activities in Southeast Europe will be more efficient
and the stabilisation of the region and regional countries' joining
the EU is in Slovenia's national interest, said Dimitrij Rupel who
is to perform the duty of Foreign Minister in the Anton Rop
government which is to be confirmed by parliament on Thursday. #L#
"Many people in Europe expect Slovenia's knowledge, experience,
ties and connections to help the European Union to settle the
situation in Southeast Europe," Rupel told a news conference which
revolved around the EU summit in Copenhagen at which Slovenia,
along with another nine countries, ended negotiations on joining
the EU, which is expected to take place on May 1, 2004.
