Lucin invited the protesters for talks in the ministry on December
18.
In talks with the protesters' representatives headed by Filip
Lacic, Lucin said that if the former police officers were prepared
to work, he was prepared to promise that all, except those who
fulfilled retirement requirements and those who did not wish to
work, would be employed within several months.
Those who are not on the list to return to the police force will not
be able to get their old jobs back, said Lucin, adding that it had
been agreed that some 50 people on that list would be restored to the
force.
He agreed with Lacic that there had been omissions during the
dismissal of police officers, either intentional or unintentional,
but not "general".
Another 33 police officers are protesting in the chapel, of which 27
will be employed, since the remainder are already on the list to be
restored to the police force or justice police, Lacic told
reporters.
The protest began after the Interior Ministry carried out a
reorganisation during which it was established that 3,700 officers
were redundant.
