The Imam of the Pula Islamic community, Vahid efendi Hodzic, said
that members of the Islamic community felt comfortable in Istria
but asked Jakovcic that Muslims be allowed to bury their dead
according to their custom.
County Assembly councillor Kemal Velagic complained that "police
don't want to enter the Bosnian Muslim nationality (in documents)
so a good number of them (Bosnian Muslims) still do not have
Croatian citizenship".
As opposed to Zagreb and Rijeka, the issue of photographs on ID
cards for Muslim women had still not been resolved in Pula.
